Haiti and Croatia Post 1

Croatia is a small country in southeastern Europe, relatively located southeast of Slovenia, and northwest of Boznia-Herzegovina. The coordinates of Croatia are 45.8° N, 16° E. The CBR this year is at a rate of 9.5. The CDR this year is 12.13. The IMR is estimated at 5.9. The TFR is estimated at 1.45. The life expectancy rate is 76 years. The country is located east of the Adriatic Sea. The arithmetic density of Croatia is 76 people per square kilometers. The physiological density is 925 people per square mile of arable land. The migration rate is 1.43 migrants per 1,000 people, which makes the country a place of destination.

The above population pyramid for the year 2013 in Croatia shows that there are more independents than dependents, which is good for the country's people. This population pyramid describes Croatia as a More Developed Country currently in level 4 of the demographic process. By 2050, Croatia should be in level 5.

Haiti is located west of the Dominican Republic, and southeast off the coast of Cuba. The absolute location is 19° N, 72°25' W.  Haiti is located in Hispaniola, south of the Atlantic Ocean, and north of the Caribbean Sea.  The CDR is 22.8 as of this year. The CDR is 7.9 as of this year. The Infant Mortality Rate is 49.4. The life expectancy is 63. Total Fertility Rate is 2.8. The arithmetic density is 374 people per square kilometer. The physiological density of the country is 3,679 per square mile of arable land. The migration rate was -4, which makes the country a source of migration.

The above population pyramid from this year shows that Haiti has more young dependents than independents in the country, and very little elderly dependents.  This classifies Haiti as a Less Developed Country in level 3 of the demographic process.

The above pyramid is for the year 2050 in Haiti. It shows that the population has increased in every age group. With this increase, Haiti will likely become More Developed Country in level 4 of the demographic process by the year 2050.

I believe that Croatia is a better country economically, and geographically, because there are enough independents in the country to provide for the dependent population. Haiti, on the other hand, has more dependents than the independents can provide for. Croatia is near the Adriatic Sea, which makes it accessible to importing and exporting goods. Although, Haiti is also near water, it is more susceptible to natural disasters, such as hurricanes, causing the country to lose money, which prevents them from exporting and importing goods. Since Haiti is an island, when a natural disaster occurs, it is harder for them to get help, while Croatia borders other countries, it is easier for the country to get help from allies. Haiti's population is estimated to increase as time goes on, but there will still be too many dependents compared to independents. Croatia's population is estimated to decrease, but there will be fewer dependents as time goes on.
